[ Happy holidays, Hilda! On Christmas morning, Hilda will find a wooden box waiting on the doorstep to her treehouse. The box is made of pine and is tied neatly with a linen ribbon and sprig of holly. When Hilda opens the box, she will find a letter placed on top of a gift.
Written in Zelda's picturesque cursive handwriting, the letter reads as follows: ]
Dearest Hilda,
Warm tidings to you during this holy season.
It is customary in my kingdom to present gifts to one's friends and family in honor of our patron goddess. As She blessed us with gifts of light and love, even in the darkest days, so too do we share our blessings with our loved ones.
As we celebrate this season away from our families and homelands, that is all the more reason to treasure the friendships we forge in Songerein. I hope you will accept this gift.
May the Goddess smile upon you, Zelda
[ Inside the box is a pair of black, white, and gold hair ornaments in the shape of flowers. They were actually crafted by Oriphi earlier in the month while she was helping make gifts in the marketplace. Hilda might have even seen them before. ]
[ A day or two after the festive dreamscape subsides and things return more or less to normal in Reverein, Hilda might find a small basket outside her door one morning. Inside this basket is a small pouch filled with vanilla cookies, another small pouch of chamomile tea, and a jar of homemade apple jelly. Last but certainly not least is a garland of felted flowers that Hilda can totally use to decorate her treehouse if she so wishes.
There is also a note nestled in the items which says, carefully handwritten: ]
Dearest Hilda,
I so appreciate your friendship and wonderful company in the time that we have known each other. I hope you enjoy these small treats. I also could not help but make one more trinket, just for you.
Tied to Hilda's door handle with ribbon is a small box and a handwritten note:
Hilda,
I saw this ring when I was out in the markets and thought of you, so I hope it makes a good gift. If it doesn't, you can either tell me and embarrass us both and I'll get you something else, or we can forget about this entirely. :)

Inside is a rose-gold ring with impressions of petals and leaves, just like the delicate flower Hilda pretends to be.
[ As soon as Ori learns of Hilda's birthday and her wish to meet for tea, she scrambles to prepare something appropriately celebratory for her friend's special day. She asks Hilda to come to her treehouse in the afternoon and then spends the rest of the morning and early afternoon baking sweets and preparing. It seems that many of the folks she's come to care about in Reverein have their birthdays around this time of the year (and by many, she means two) and somewhere in her journal, Ori starts to keep track of these dates.
She wants to make sure that Hilda will have a good time this afternoon - after all, it hasn't escaped Ori's notice that they haven't spoken much in the last few weeks, and that Hilda's chosen to spend time with her instead of her friend from home on this day.
When the appointed time comes, Ori will be standing near her door, looking out the window for Hilda's arrival, and no sooner does she arrive at the tiefling's doorstep does Ori open the door with a bright greeting, ]
Happy birthday, Hilda!
[ as she steps aside to permit Hilda into her home immediately. The interior of Ori's treehouse is unquestionably cozy and characteristic of her, with plants and dried flowers and herbs everywhere. Then, beside the fireplace is a quilt laid out with pillows on top of it and a rustic teatime spread of pastries, fruits, and flowers. Although it continues to be frigid outside, Ori hopes that it will still feel like a nice garden picnic in her home, surrounded by plants and warmth as they are to be. ]
Please, come in. It's been so long since I last saw you.

[He hadn't been able to approach her in the dreamscape itself when everything had come to a head, but he'd seen a whole lot of what had gone down— including her dramatic death scene, which she'd oddly seemed to be... enjoying, in her own way?
Even so, seems like a good idea to check in, especially because of what happened the last time something left her real shaken.
Not that they're talking about that, of course.
He frowns to himself as he pauses outside her treehouse door for a moment before knocking.]
